MILTON KEYNES OPEN
Sunday 6 May 2007 saw members of Richard’s Trampoline Club travelling over to Milton Keynes for their annual competition. This competition catered for everyone, from beginners to National Grade 1 standard. For some it was the warm-up for Nationals next weekend, and for others it was their first competition
With just Kasey Kilday at Grade 2, he didn’t have very good warm-ups. But he showed great determination when he competed and produced 2 good routines. Both routines contained 1 somersault that travelled, but Kasey didn’t let this affect the rest of the routine and finished in 3rd place. We all wish him luck at Nationals next weekend up in Gateshead.
At Grade 3 Sophie Perks had an excellent day. This is her first competition since qualifying up to Grade 3, and she made the transition effortlessly. She saved her best routines for when she competed and easily won 1st place. Lizzie Mercer also did some good routines. She’s been steadily improving at this grade and finished in a well-earned 2nd place. Lorna Kyan made a mistake during her set routine, which left her down in 7th place, despite great improvement in her voluntary routine.
At Grade 4 Jo Collins made an excellent start with her set routine, maintaining her height and showing some good lineouts. A small error in her voluntary routine lost her some of the difficulty score, but she’d done enough to finish in 1st place. Becky Hales completed her routines well to finish in 5th place and Katherine Crone in 6th place.
At Grade 5 Bradley Sapsford was competing for the first, having only joined the club a couple of months ago. So he did extremely well to finish in 3rd place. Jack Jones, also competing for the first time, narrowly missed out on a medal in 4th place. Also Hollie Meikle, again competing for the first time finished in 9th place, and Amy Rayfield competing for the first time at Grade 5 in 10th place.
In the Ungraded group Scott Crowhurst did really well to finish in 3rd place, and Hazel Smart just missed the medals in 4th place. They then went onto win team 1st. Also Hazel Childs in 6th place.
With just Andy Davies in the beginners group, the standard was extremely high and he just missed the medals in 4th place.
And finally in the starter groups Lukas Fairweather did his Dad (Richard) proud finishing in 2nd place.
